Flashy, gaudy and thoroughly over the top, Cavalli Club’s Swarovski-decked interior divides opinions. Yet whatever your thoughts on the leopard-print chairs, giant chandeliers and fur-lined elevators, there’s no doubt that this place makes an impression. The menu throws up a couple of surprises – the pricy caviar options feel fairly par for the course, yet the zebra-print ravioli must surely be a Dubai first – and the chef demonstrates a flair for subtle, carefully thought-out dishes with nuanced seasoning and delightfully fresh flavours. While most of the prices are wince-inducing, those on a tighter budget can opt for a basic spaghetti Bolognese or carbonara – although we doubt Cavalli’s wealthy clientele will be too bothered about forking out the best part of Dhs1,000 for a meal for two.More Details
