Bar Zar’s beautiful setting on the edge of the Madinat waterway is its saving grace. Its location and prices compare to nearby Bahri Bar in the Mina A' Salam. But for standards of food and service, there is no comparison. Bar staff will take your order, begin filling your glass and then turn their attention to another customer, while waiters seem confused by the simplest of requests and food seems an afterthought; below-average pub fare, bland and unimaginative. While the barbecue baby-back ribs are excellent, the peppered steak pie is small and ordinary. The hot lava chocolate pudding and cheesecake sundae are the best things on the menu.More Details
