Restaurant Detail
Le Dune Pizzeria
Description
This secluded restaurant boasts a panoramic view of the desert landscape and certainly looks the part. The mix of Arabic and Italian decor complement each other surprisingly well; aged wooden furniture and terracotta flooring evoke a warm ambience whilst the twinkling lanterns add that romantic touch. It's tucked away in a quiet corner of the stunning Bab Al Shams resort - and thus avoids the crowds that the likes of Al Hadeerah draws in – we're not complaining though. Staying true to the restaurant’s rustic, unfussy aesthestics, the menu keeps things simple – with pizza, pizza and more pizza! 12 varieties to be precise and no starters means one less decision to make! Watch the animated chefs cook your margherita or diavola in a traditional clay oven, it only adds to the authenticity. And the results; fresh, homemade and flavourful across the board. That said, Dhs80 seems a touch overpriced for a 'nice' pizza. And a 40 minute trek into the desert for a pizza which is pleasant but not outstanding, could leave you scratching our heads. Le Dune needs to add a sprinkle of ‘magnifico’ to its pizzas, to get the crowds back.More Details
